Rehabilitation, Strengthening and 4-laning of Jammu & Udhampur section of NH-1A

Stretched at a total length of 663 Kms, the National Highway NH1 A connects Jalandhar in Punjab to Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir state. Emerged to be an integral and essential highway for connectivity, the 4 laning of Jammu to Udhampur section has been accomplished in Jammu & Kashmir. The project road starts at 15 Kms on Jammu Bypass (just after the NS-33 project of National Highway in the State of Jammu and Kashmir) and terminates at the North end of Udhampur Bypass (existing Km 67.000) of NH-1A with a total project length of 64.579 Kms in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

With an objective to support and enable the major townships of Nagrota and Udhampur to undertake commercial activities, the project road starts from 9.350 Km to Km 10.200 of NH1 A followed with proposed bypass of Nagrota at 22.400 Kms of NH-1A. Moreover, the project included Rehabilitation, Strengthening and 4-laning of Jammu & Udhampur section of NH-1A.The project included 4 twin tube tunnels stretching at 2400 meters of 4 lanes as follows: 

  •             Tunnel T-1 LHS-187mts RHS-148mts Cross Section-86 sq m
  •             Tunnel T-2 LHS-254mts RHS-270mts Cross section-86 sq m
  •             Tunnel T-3 LHS-471mts RHS-474mts Cross Section-86 sq m 
  •             Tunnel T-4 LHS-547mts RHS-559mts Cross Section-86 Sq m
